A Pampering Treat At The Samsara Wellness Spa

Posted on August 21, 2017 by dimpi

Rejuvenate Your Body and Soul

Come join me on this journey and find out how you can enjoy a pampering traditional Malaya massage in Singapore, along with the vibrant streets of Joo Chiat. My senses were triggered the moment I stepped in. My sense of smell to welcomed the strong whiff of the calming and tranquil-induced aroma, while my eyes took in the resort-inspired interiors. It was the perfect ambiance and setting to just while your time away. Quietly.

Warm Hospitality

Fret not, as almost immediately the friendly staff at the counter, Everlyn ( except for her off days on Thursday) will be there to welcome customers with her bright friendly smile. You can definitely walk-in or book in advance especially recommended for peak periods from 6pm till 1am. Yes, they are opened throughout the night!
So if you can't sleep, getting a foot reflexology or massage might just be the key to promoting sleep thereafter.)
Here I am with Everlyn. I think we hit off really well!

Pre-Massage

My advice: bring a set of clothes you won't mind having essential oil touched onto and wear something comfy.
To settle you down, you will be handed a warm and soothing Herbal Therapy Soothing Pillow, which really is a comfy neck warmer as what I had below. The herbal pillow encourages the release of tensions and stiffness in the neck and shoulder area and warms the joints for better blood flow. Alternatively, you can also choose the sea salt soothing pillow containing salt crystals

Little Treats

Each guest will be served with a lovely serving of juicy watermelon, refillable tea (Tea flavors range from Jasmine, Rose, Osmanthus, Chrysanthemum, and Barley on a rotation basis) and a hot wet towel for you to freshen up.

Doze Off

Experience relaxation on cushy plush seats which can easily be adjusted to recline. Also, free WIFI is available for you busy bees who can’t keep one minute off your screen from your social media updates. Relax, chill and surf.
A luxurious enjoyment and you don’t even have to spend big bucks to enjoy an afternoon bliss.

Pre-Soak: Herbal/Ginger Foot Bath

I first had my feet soaked in a foot pool infused with herbal to soothe the feet and remove odor for 15 minutes. The water was hot but basically, I got adjusted to it quite quickly.

Here's the display of the products. From the powders to oils

The Foot Massage Experience

The 30 minutes leg message was a huge relief from the daily aches that our feet and calves endured. Each of the masseuses had an electronic badge with a designated number and name. I was served by the gentle Ms. Acha, No. 5. As I sat there soaking my feet. My tension floated away instantaneously.
Interesting facts: All masseuses and masseurs in the Samsara Spa are employed from Sabah, Malaysia and brought along with well-executed massage skills and techniques.

Ms. Acha started with the message, applying pressure and kneading at exactly the right points and I felt my muscle tensions gradually relaxing. The firm pressure, strokes and the pushes and tugs were exactly applied on point.

The Body Massage

As I moved from the main hall to the partitioned corner where massage beds lay, I sprawled on the bed, head down and clothed.
If you are worried about stripping off naked or hate the oily feeling all over your body, then this 30 minutes 'dry' message is great. Because the spa has a license which does not allow stripping within a business setting, thus the whole spa bears an open concept. Thus for ladies, you will be fully clothed and for the guys, you can choose to strip off your shirt. Even though it is a fully-clothed massage, you can still choose to have oil spread on your arms and legs for that extra 'oomph'.
The full-body massage was a bliss with pulls and tugs at the right spots with the right pressures. You know the difference between a perfect relaxing massage when it is not painful and you are not holding your breathe.
Enjoy, go with the flow with the masseuse's pace and twists, synchronizing with the flow. That’s the way.

These were the oils used for body massages. Choose from olive, rose or lavender oils. Lavender obviously is their best-selling oil best for stress relief. and was out of stock when I visited.

Promotion!

If you visit during the 'Happy Hours' from 1 pm to 6 pm, Monday to Friday,  special pricings are available for foot and body and acupuncture massages.

Come visit Samsara Wellness Spa for a cozy hideout for that tension and stress relief.
