A Pampering Treat At The Samsara Wellness Spa

Posted on August 21, 2017 by dimpi

Rejuvenate Your Body and Soul

Come join me on this journey and find out how you can enjoy a pampering traditional Malaya massage in Singapore, along with the vibrant streets of Joo Chiat. My senses were triggered the moment I stepped in. My sense of smell to welcomed the strong whiff of the calming and tranquil-induced aroma, while my eyes took in the resort-inspired interiors. It was the perfect ambiance and setting to just while your time away. Quietly.

Warm Hospitality

Fret not, as almost immediately the friendly staff at the counter, Everlyn ( except for her off days on Thursday) will be there to welcome customers with her bright friendly smile. You can definitely walk-in or book in advance especially recommended for peak periods from 6pm till 1am. Yes, they are opened throughout the night!
So if you can't sleep, getting a foot reflexology or massage might just be the key to promoting sleep thereafter.)
Here I am with Everlyn. I think we hit off really well!

Pre-Massage

My advice: bring a set of clothes you won't mind having essential oil touched onto and wear something comfy.
To settle you down, you will be handed a warm and soothing Herbal Therapy Soothing Pillow, which really is a comfy neck warmer as what I had below. The herbal pillow encourages the release of tensions and stiffness in the neck and shoulder area and warms the joints for better blood flow. Alternatively, you can also choose the sea salt soothing pillow containing salt crystals

Little Treats

Each guest will be served with a lovely serving of juicy watermelon, refillable tea (Tea flavors range from Jasmine, Rose, Osmanthus, Chrysanthemum, and Barley on a rotation basis) and a hot wet towel for you to freshen up.

Doze Off

Experience relaxation on cushy plush seats which can easily be adjusted to recline. Also, free WIFI is available for you busy bees who can’t keep one minute off your screen from your social media updates. Relax, chill and surf.
A luxurious enjoyment and you don’t even have to spend big bucks to enjoy an afternoon bliss.

Pre-Soak: Herbal/Ginger Foot Bath

I first had my feet soaked in a foot pool infused with herbal to soothe the feet and remove odor for 15 minutes. The water was hot but basically, I got adjusted to it quite quickly.

Here's the display of the products. From the powders to oils

The Foot Massage Experience

The 30 minutes leg message was a huge relief from the daily aches that our feet and calves endured. Each of the masseuses had an electronic badge with a designated number and name. I was served by the gentle Ms. Acha, No. 5. As I sat there soaking my feet. My tension floated away instantaneously.
Interesting facts: All masseuses and masseurs in the Samsara Spa are employed from Sabah, Malaysia and brought along with well-executed massage skills and techniques.

Ms. Acha started with the message, applying pressure and kneading at exactly the right points and I felt my muscle tensions gradually relaxing. The firm pressure, strokes and the pushes and tugs were exactly applied on point.

The Body Massage

As I moved from the main hall to the partitioned corner where massage beds lay, I sprawled on the bed, head down and clothed.
If you are worried about stripping off naked or hate the oily feeling all over your body, then this 30 minutes 'dry' message is great. Because the spa has a license which does not allow stripping within a business setting, thus the whole spa bears an open concept. Thus for ladies, you will be fully clothed and for the guys, you can choose to strip off your shirt. Even though it is a fully-clothed massage, you can still choose to have oil spread on your arms and legs for that extra 'oomph'.
The full-body massage was a bliss with pulls and tugs at the right spots with the right pressures. You know the difference between a perfect relaxing massage when it is not painful and you are not holding your breathe.
Enjoy, go with the flow with the masseuse's pace and twists, synchronizing with the flow. That’s the way.

These were the oils used for body massages. Choose from olive, rose or lavender oils. Lavender obviously is their best-selling oil best for stress relief. and was out of stock when I visited.

Promotion!

If you visit during the 'Happy Hours' from 1 pm to 6 pm, Monday to Friday,  special pricings are available for foot and body and acupuncture massages.

Come visit Samsara Wellness Spa for a cozy hideout for that tension and stress relief.

Refreshing Breath WIth A Pop Of IMPACT Mints

Posted on August 10, 2017 by dimpi

IMPACT Mints held its first event media event in Asia and Singapore was right smack at its very first. We were filled with "sweet" nothing in our hearts. Literally.

Feel the chill in your mouth. Anytime.

Made in Germany, IMPACT Mint keeps your breath in minty cool condition. Always. As an infrequent sweet consumer, I am a sucker for their pretty tin packagings which comes in a convenient handy packaging with a plastic sheet insert which actually functions to keep it hygienic and makes it easy to share with friends. Popping made easy.
The mints are available in fruity zesty flavours and are sugar-free.

What Creatives.

Do not undermine the power of these little pops because they can actually be used creatively in the preparation of any food or drinks. For example, we were treated to mint infused fruit punches for a refreshing cooling note to the otherwise "normal" punches. We love the subtle hints of chill.

I was surprised and delighted to learn that the organizers had also used shavings of mints as sprinkles and toppings for desserts like on cupcakes and cookies. That's a new idea, isn't it?
So instead of using sugar frosting the next time round, just use IMPACT Mints!
They made a prettier and healthier choice since these mints are sugar-free.

Do you know?

IMPACT Mint started from Japan in 2002, followed by the rest of Asia and has always delighted the young and old with its 5 main flavours- blackcurrant, mint, strawberry, peach and its latest addition — mango.

Always Pure

You will notice that regardless of the flavours, the mints remain pure white. This is because there is no artificial colouring added and IMPACT wants to keep the mints as natural as possible.

Highlighting 2 of my favourite flavour!

Peach. This sweet smelling peachy mint will definitely let the people around you smell your sweet minty breath when conversing. Many of us adore this flavour which uses a special Japanese peach.
On the other hand, strawberry flavour is like biting into the real red juiciness with the strong strawberry notes infused with the minty sensation.
Awesome!

The kind folks even let us do a handmade parfait with all sorts of yummy ingredients — IMPACT Mints included of course.
Adorable and super-fun parfaits making for the group.

IMPACT Mints are found in selected Fairprice, Cheers, 7-eleven, Giant and SHeng Siong outlets at $2.60 per box.

That's not all.

 I have a giveaway Announcement

Party Popper Singapore Goes Pop For Your Party Needs

Posted on August 03, 2017 by dimpi
In line with my feature of Singapore's local enterprises, I had the chance to be part of Party Popper Singapore's party fun with what else, but poppers.

What This Business Is About

You would think this is a typical business but Party Popper is not your all-encompassing party shop. Instead, as its name goes, Party Popper Singapore purely focuses on specializing in poppers and nothing else. Founder Marcus Poh wants to give life and vibe to any happy celebratory occasions and hence the decision to venture into this business.
It is all about bringing joy and laughter to everyone with a little surprise. (* Winks)

Opening Ceremony

In celebration of Party Popper's opening, we were treated to a visual feast of dragon and lion dances in symbolism of good luck and fortune. Of course in the background we had to blast out those poppers.
All the action in the video right at the end of this post!

Colorful Sparks

Well, not to undermine the power of these seemingly "harmless" tubes. Because seriously, I had never given much thoughts into using poppers to enhance and liven up the atmosphere of any of my past parties.
That is, well, till I saw for myself what lovely effects these poppers could do to get everyone in the room up for some party and celebration!

These poppers could really shoot high for outdoor events. See the streamers floating in the air?

Against a dark background, the confetti within the poppers gave an even more striking and prettier contrast. And thanks to the crew we had some lovely-cherry photos taken.

What Kind of Poppers?

The whole range of products can be found on their website and I will not bore you with their catalogue which ranges from amazingly cheap prices at $1.50 to more elaborate designs at $9.50 per pop. These poppers are filled with bits in different shapes, sizes and colours and I don't think there is nothing that you can't find to fit the occasion of your celebrations.

Let me just feature some highlights.

Something for the Children
With the push of a simple button, after the removal of a safety latch, kids can have it safe and easy with popping too. This popper was also very much welcomed by adults who may find difficulty twisting or am afraid of the loud 'pop!' of a typical popper tube. This popper was pretty amazing and shot very well with the shiny foils in shapes of stars and circles high up to the ceiling and falling from above. We love it!

Money Money
This is really funny. Imaging money falling from the sky. Literally.

Here's how small cash felt

Customization
Customers can also consider having their pictures imprinted on the poppers for a personal touch.
Is this wedding popper os unique:

Because Seeing is Beliving

Here is a video of how the confetti fell after we gave them a serious pop! It was pretty funny how the videos turned out and you can see how the effect was like.
Enjoy!
